Biologists Search For New Model Organisms | Quanta Magazine

"In June, [MBLFellow Alejandro] S谩nchez Alvarado and a few other scientists convened a panel of experts at Woods Hole鈥檚 Marine Biological Laboratory to discuss the development of new model species. The researchers want to combine the best of both worlds 鈥 narrow and broad 鈥 taking advantage of both nature鈥檚 diversity and the wealth of tools and knowledge that amass from focusing on specific species. 鈥淢ost of the biological world lies before us unexplored and unknown,鈥 said Jonathan Gitlin, 美女直播做爱鈥檚 director of research. 鈥淚f most of what we know comes from seven organisms, imagine what we would know if we had 700.鈥
